Led by Pastor Roger Thompson and BoldPath Life Strategies founder, Leary Gates, IronWorks exists to strengthen men through the teaching of God’s Word and the application of God’s truth to everyday issues.

At IronWorks, we sharpen each other’s mettle — our vigor and strength of spirit — to become men of structure, strength, substance and sustenance:

  1. Structure. I’m part of a bigger structure (Ephesians 4:16). When I fail other parts are weakened; when I’m strong other parts are uplifted.
  2. Strength. I get my strength from God. I look to Him to enable me to accomplish His purposes (Philippians 4:13).
  3. Substance. I’m a man of integrity. What you see is what you get. I’m honest and transparent before man and God. (2 Corinthians 5:11).
  4. Sustenance. I’m energized by God and I inspire others to live their lives more abundantly for Christ. (Hebrews 10:24-25).

Roger Thompson has served as Pastor at Berean Baptist Church in Burnsville, Minnesota for sixteen years. He is a speaker for FamilyLife conferences, having a lifelong passion for cultivating healthy marriages and families. However, his deepest quest is to live, not just teach, what it means to be the man God has designed him to be.

Roger has discovered that the “sweet spot” in all his ministry activities is the encouragement and coaching of other men to live with focus and purpose. He would rather do this while running, biking or woodworking, but fortunately teaching is also his passion.

Leary Gates is the founder of BoldPath Life Strategies, as well as two high technology service businesses and a number of not-for-profit organizations. He is actively engaged in the business community, advising both start-ups and Fortune 1000 market leaders.

Leary is a gifted communicator and frequent speaker at men’s retreats and other Christian venues. For over twenty years as a lay leader in his church, he has counseled men, provided Biblical instruction to adults, launched and led numerous men’s ministry programs and conceived and hosted the Twin Cities Christian Leadership Initiative ministry to promote Christian leadership among the business community. He is on the executive board of the National Coalition of Men’s Ministries.
